~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Eyes Without A Face! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This week, The Weekly Beet reports on the secrets of reading the map of the iris. Mary Kent opens her eyes and focuses on the powerful science of iridology.
Everybody knows the eyes are said to be the windows of the soul! But, how many of you know they are also said to be the map of the body? Iridology, the scientific analysis of the eye's colorful iris, is fast becoming one of the most popular alternative practices for preventing illness and disease. It is believed by iridologists, or trained “eye readers”, that every segment of the iris is connected to a particular organ in the body. By reading the iris closely, an iridologist looks for discoloration, as well as various marks, signs, lines, and dots which ultimately reveal strengths, weaknesses, as well as underlying signs of developing disease. Markings in the iris vary from white dots to red lines, and can even show up as rings known as sodium rings. Click here to see more markings and what they mean. A trained iridologist knows that a white dot in a certain area of the iris represents severe inflammation or irritation in a particular organ. This is just one of the many findings that an iridologist will uncover.
Here are a few reasons why iridology is so unBEETable:
Reveals areas of weakness and strength in the organs of the body.
Shows stages of inherent inflammation.
Reveals personality traits.
Gives nutritional and chemical imbalances in the organs.
Shows toxicity accumulations in the body.
These days iridology can be seen everywhere. A session lasts about an hour and involves a non-invasive, thorough examination of the eye. The practitioner will look into the eye with a slitlamp or a simple penlight and magnifying glass. Most of the time a photograph will be taken of the iris. Then, a general analysis of overall health and specific strenghts and weakness of organs will be discussed. Often, nutritional supplements will be recommended. It's best to look for an iridologist who is certified by the Institute for Applied Iridology or by the International Iridology Research Association (IIRI). Let your eye be the window of your health. Don't miss a Beet. Stay tuned for next week.
Mary Kent
