This week, The Weekly Beet reports on the ingredient list of just ONE cigarette. Mary Kent goes behind the smoke of cigarettes, showing you just how toxic those fumes really are.
If you believe a cigarette just contains tobacco, think again! The reason why tobacco companies do not list cigarette ingredients is because the list is simply too long and the government doesn't require it. There are 599 addititives in just ONE cigarette. When burned these additives create 4000 chemical compounds that are highly toxic and carcinogenic.

Cigarettes, a nicotine delivery system, are an “over-the-counter drug” made acceptable, cool, and glamorous by Hollywood, Rock 'n Roll, and Fashion. Nicotine, by definition, is a colorless, poisonous alkaloid, that comes from the tobacco plant and is highly addictive. It is no wonder that the World Health Organization reports that there are 1.3 billion smokers wordwide with 5 million smoking caused deaths per year. The billions of dollars tobacco companies make off these numbers is outrageous. Luckily, there are people like Dr. Jeff Wigand, portrayed by Russell Crowe in The Insider, who stepped up to the plate to reveal the horrific truth on tobacco companies fueling cigarette addiction.
 Because nicotine is recognized as an addictive substance, kicking those butts ain't easy! - See a Nutritionist to learn about cravings and weight gain.
- Choose complex carbohydrates such as oatmeal, fruits, and vegetables to eliminate cravings.
- Investigate herbal remedies at health food stores to help ease withdrawal symptoms.
