This week, The Weekly Beet reports straight from the heart! From her heart to your's, Mary Kent creates a little something to help us all remember just how truly powerful we are within.
 Lub Dub. Lub Dub. Lub Dub. Love. Love. Love. Different words indeed, yet oddly enough, both equally hold similar sounding vowel vibrations. By no means can that be an accident! It's just one powerful, emotional message echoing straight from the heart and one that a little, charmed necklace called The Heart Beet is telling us all to remember! Designed by the talented Christy Jervey to reflect The Weekly Beet's logo, The Heart Beet is a sweet, little charm necklace created to remind us all that love is the greatest power on Earth. Adorned with a crown of leaves, The Heart Beet is both a heart and a beet. It represents so many things, but obviously it is meant to stand for only love. With love in our hearts we can and will achieve the impossible! Though we wouldn't have the ability to achieve such impossibility, if it were notfor the spectacular and awesome job done by the heart! I think it's obvious the inventor definitely knew what he was doing. Each day the average heart "beets" by expanding and contracting nearly 100,000 times, pumping about 2,000 gallons of blood throughout the body. So, take a 70 year old, and that's more than 2.5 billion heart beats in an average human's lifetime. With an unBEETable job like that, it's no wonder we need to be reminded of just how important our heart is!
 I really do believe there is this mysterious power held deep within the heart that guides us to our final destination. We follow our heart, trusting that its internal GPS knows the best course of action to take. We listen to it to help us handle the twists and turns of the roads that lie ahead. And, we trust in our heart, when it seems that everything outside of us has led us in the wrong direction. It's most definitely a climb to get to the top to follow, to listen, and to trust, but I must admit once you're there the view is absolutely breathtaking! Love comes with and through the climb, through the people we encounter, through vocations, hobbies, but most importantly through the self. In my experience, I have found that love must be remembered, protected, and highly nourished. It must be honorably chosen. It must be kept close, yet allowably free. It must be unassumingly given and, most importantly, always well received. Love can truly never be destroyed, yet at times it does become challenged. Love can never be forgotten, yet it must be quietly tucked away. It exists without interpretation, without borders, and without measure, which means, that love just simply is.
In my five years spent writing and researching for The Beet, I have never sold a Beet related item on my website. Perhaps, I was waiting on the right moment for this little necklace to spring forth! Or, maybe this little charm was simply waiting on me! Whatever the reason, I'm so very excited about The Heart Beet and am thrilled I could be a part of bringing this little love creation into existence! The Heart Beet was inspired with love and brought forth with the help of Christy Jervey. Her creativity and talent took The Beet's heart-shaped logo that I had drawn long ago and made it into a precious little, sparkling piece. At the time, even I didn't quite grasp the entirety of the wonderful symbolism that was behind the logo. Christy cast the beet charm using the Lost Wax Technique, an ancient method once used for creating bronze and brass sculptures. The Heart Beet comes as a chained necklace in 14K Gold or in Sterling Silver. This necklace represents so much of who I am and what I love to do and I hope it will be worn by others to stand for the same in their life. The Heart Beet is to be worn as a simple reminder of who we are within and what we are ALL capable of being, giving, and receiving. Thanks Christy for captivating my Heart Beet perfectly!
