This week, The Weekly Beet reports on how back pain can now be a thing of the past. Mary Kent gets back to basics, revealing The Beet's top ten to getting a better back!
Everybody's aching these days! From herniated disks to sciatica, it seems that back pain has really got Americans bent out of shape. With over 200 million suffering from major back pain at some point in their life, it's obvious there are alot of people standing around completely misaligned! Back pain is the leading cause of disability in people under the age of 45 in the United States and is a big bucks business with $50 billion being spent each year. This figure doesn't even include the sales of over-the-counter, temporary relieving anti-inflammatories that do nothing more than suppress the pain for a few hours. When this cycle gets started no telling what toxins you're adding to your body for a bit of pseudo pain relief. Click here to learn more.
Luckily, there are many things one can to do to protect and prevent back pain. It can be easily remedied in its early stages with a few simple changes in lifestyle. Here are our top 10 basics to getting a better back:
- Exercise regularly. Engage in yoga, cardio, or even walking.
- Get a good core work-out! Lift weights to increase muscles in back, abs, upper torso and glutes.
- Replace your mattress if waking up with back pain. Try to sleep on your back. Click here to see positions.
- Drink lots of water. Water keeps disks healthy!
- Be aware of your posture. Slouching feels comfy while sitting or driving for long hours, but can do more harm in the end.
- Investigate The Alexander Technique and Feldenkrais. Both are excellent for helping back pain.
- Bathe in bathtub filled with Epsom Salt and Apple Cider Vinegar.
- Stretching is the best remedy for any back pain.
- Supplement with B-12, Vitamin D, and Magnesium.
- Seek acupuncture, massage therapy, chiropractic adjustments, and even affirmations for back pain.
Here's something even more interesting! Could your back pain be trying to tell you something more than just something physical? According to Louise Hay, author of Heal Your Body, physical pain can have a direct relationship with emotional pain. She tells us:
- Lower back pain can signify a fear of money or lack of financial support.
- Middle back pain is often symptomatic of feelings of guilt, being stuck, or pressured and wishing they could tell someone to 'get off of my back.'
- Upper back pain often indicates lack of emotional support, feeling unloved, and/or holding back love.
It's essential to take care of your back sooner rather than later! Hope these tips help you on your way to getting a better back.
Straighten up and get back to basics! Don't miss a Beet. Stay tuned for next week.
Love,
Mary Kent
