~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ O, A, B, or AB - What Are You? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At Dragonfly Wellness it is our mission to bring you the best in the world of healthy living! This week's health tip is on the Blood Type Diet.
Occasionally, a really interesting diet comes along that we just have to share! The Blood Type Diet, originated by Dr. Peter J. D'Adamo, states that different blood types have different body chemistries, and thus, require different foods to function properly.
Dragonfly Wellness is a fan of the diet because it does in many ways cater to the individual, separating us all by blood type. As we are believers that there is no one particular diet that works for everyone, we feel that the Blood Type is the closet diet that holds this truth. We do not recommend following this diet precisely. Instead, incorporate bits and pieces into your eating routine and lifestyle. For example, if your blood type is O, you may not be getting enough protein from either animal or plant sources. Do an experiment and notice how you feel after eating animal protein!
The book, Eat Right 4 Your Type, is incredible. However, we recommend the little, individualized blood type books that contain listings of food, beverage, and supplements. The book is so handy and fits perfectly inside any purse. Definitely take the book to the grocery store or to a restaurant. The books come with shopping lists and break down foods into the best and worst categories according to your particular blood type. You'll be surprised at the lists.
Don't know your blood type? You can order a kit online at D'Adamo or find one at your local health food store. They are super easy to use!
So, the next time you're at a cocktail party you can ask your neighbor, "Do you know your blood type?" Some people will know, but more will not. If they are O, you can ask "Do you eat steak?" or if they are A, you can say "Did you eat enough greens today." It's an interesting topic of conversation.
Our Weekly Health Tip is undergoing a make-over. We will have new changes in the next few weeks.
Mary Kent
